defeated mike castle to win that state's republican nomination for united states senate. o'donnell finished with more than 53% of the vote. >> we're in this to win. and we're in this to win big. and win big we did. don't ever underestimate the power of we the people. >> the last several weeks have been spirited, shall we say. and the voters in the republican primary have spoken and i respect that decision. i had a very nice speech prepared here hoping i would win this race and talked about thing we'd be able to do to create jobs and reduce taxes and those

things that make a difference to delaware. still a long ways to go, by the way. i still have some time in office. so i will be fervently trying to carry out my responsibilities. >> a shocking loss for mike castle. meanwhile, christine o'donnell is front page news in all the national papers. here she is on the front of the "new york times," "washington post," and the "wall street journal" declaring this morning tea party claiming a big win. analysts, however, now see o'donnell's victory as a set back for the republican party since polls suggest she enters november's race against chris kuntss as the underdog and she not have the support of her former rival or the party as a whole. a castle campaign source tells the long time congressman will not be endorsing o'donnell and they do not want to fund her race. karl rove also made it clear last night that o'donnell hurts
